Are These Specs Good And Future Proof?

– 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM processor (up to 3.40 GHz, 6M cache)
– 17.3in Full High Definition (1080p) LED Display with Anti-Glare
– 8GB3 DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz
– 750GB Serial ATA (7200RPM)
– 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 650M GDDR5 130W
– Blu-ray Disc BD-Combo (Reads BD and Writes to DVD/CD)
It’s £809 (£879 with more warranty and backlit keyboard), but I can buy it for about £700 to £750 with student discount.
I’m a little worried about the graphics card, however this is a laptop.
Will it be able to play games on medium quality at at least 30fps in about 3-5 years?
Thank you

The graphics card is definitely the biggest concern here. I think it will play games on medium settings through the future just fine but unless you are doing really CPU intensive tasks, you could find a different computer with a i7-3610QM. It is hardly less powerful but much cheaper. This will be fine for what you want but you may be able to do better.

I have a toshiba laptop and it a intel i3 and I don’t know other specs other than I think 6gb ram and I get performance you are talking about so I think you should be fine

5 years is really kinda stretching it, but you system seems to be good, at for a couple of years
