Connect Single Channel Mono Block Amp To A Passive Subwoofer Will It Work?

Hi!
The more I read the more I get confused.. Ok, would it be a good idea to buy and connect a single channel mono block amp (http://www.caraudiooutlet.co.uk/us-amps-md21-merlin-2-channel-400-watts-class-ab-car-audio-amplifier/) to a passive subwoofer (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000JLLKCC/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00) to make a subwoofer that can be used by modern AV receiver?
Thanks a lot!

    A few points, here:
That’s not a single channel amplifier. It quite clearly says “2-channel”.
It’s a car amplifier. How are you going to connect a 12v car amplifier into your 240v mains, without frying it?
Why not just connect the subwoofer to your a/v receiver, in the way it’s meant to be connected? But not that particular subwoofer, obviously – it’s just cheap and nasty crap.
