Does anyone know which supermarket still takes cheque with cheque guarantee card to buy food?

Tesco have recently stopped taking cheque, I am hoping maybe marks and spencer or asda. Does anyone know, has anyone paid by cheque recently in a supermarket? Thanks

I work for a supermarket and in Ireland we still take cheques but only with a photo i.d. such as passport or drivers license-too many people have had chequebooks stolen either from cars, handbags, letter boxes etc.
Debit cards are much safer and the banks charge the supermarkets more to lodge cheques because of cheque fraud/bouncing etc. than for electronic transactions so it’s the banks forcing cheques out, not retailers.

I think you will struggle. Certainly, Morrisons stopped taking cheques in 2007. You could ring Asda or Marks and Spencer and ask them. I think it is a disgrace that cheques are now seen as dodgy.
