Explain These Math Problem…?

the sum of the selling prices of 2
toys having the same cost price and
sold at profits of5% and 10% is
1032.then the cost price of each
toy is…
a bicycle was sold at a gain of 20%.
had it been sold for rs.89 more,the
gain would have been 25%.find the
cost price of the bicycle.
a vendor bought a 5 lemons for rs. 1. how many lemons can be bought for rs.7 to gain 50/3
a dealer buys goods. at 15% off the list price. he wants to make a profit of 20% after allowing. a discount of 10% . at what price above the list price. should he mark the goods?.
a trader marks a television. 20% above the cost price and allows a discount of 10% . if the profit earned is rs.544,then what is the cost price of the television?
a student. buys 3 pencils for rs.4 and sells all atv4 for rs.5. his gain or loss percent is..
a shopkeeper sold an article. at 5% profit . if he had sold it at a profit of 35/2.% the profit would. have. been. rs.25 more.what is the cost price of the article .

    1) Let the cost price of each article be Rs X
    1.05X + 1.1X = 1032
    2.15X = 1032
    X = 1032/2.15 = Rs 480 ANSWER
    2) Let the cost of cycle be Rs 100x
    20% profit = sold for Rs 120x
    25% profit = Rs 120x + Rs 89
    125x = 120x +89
    5x = 89
    100x = 89 X 20 = Rs 1780 ANSWER
    3) Question is not clear
    4) Let the list price be Rs 100x
    15% off = Rs 85x = cost
    20% profit = 1.2 X 85 = Rs 102x
    Sale price after 10% discount is Rs 102x
    So marked price = 100/90 X 102x = Rs 113.33x
    Marked price – cost = Rs 13.33x over the list price ANSWER
    5) Cost = Rs 100x
    20% profit = Rs 120x
    10% discount = Rs 12x
    Sale price = Rs 108x
    8x = Rs 544
    100x = 100/8 X 544 = Rs 6800 ANSWER
    6) Cost per pencil = Rs 4/3
    Sale price per pencil =Rs 5/4
    loss = 5/4 – 4/3 = 15/12 – 16 /12 = – 1/12
    loss % = 8.33/ 133 X 100 = 6.26% loss
    7) Cost = Rs 100x
    5% profit = Rs 105x
    35/2% profit = Rs 117.50x
    117.50x = 105x + 25
    12.50x =25
    100x = Rs 200 ANSWER

    -first problem
    the equation is 2x + (15x/100) = 1032 (where X is the original price of one toy)
    when you solve this equation, you obtain that the price of each toy is X=480
    -second problem
    the equations are: X+(20X/100)=Y and X+(25X/100)=Y+89 (where X is the price of the bicycle and Y is the is the selling price of the bicycle)
    when you solve this equation, you obtain that the price of the bicycle is X=1780
    -third problem
    this problem is unclear (to gain 50/3 what)
    -fifth problem
    the equation is (10X/100)=544 where X is the cost of the television
    when you solve this equation , X=5440
    -sixth problem (what does atv4 stand for)
    -seventh problem
    the equations are (5X/100)+X=Y and (35X/200)+X=Y+25
    when you solve this system of equations, you find that the price of the article is X=200

    ASK ONLY ONE QUESTION AT A TIME.
    1) Let the cost price of each toy = Rs x
    Selling price of the 1st toy = Rs (x + 5% of x) = Rs (x + x/20) = Rs 21x / 20
    Selling price of the 2nd toy = Rs (x + 10% of x) = Rs (x + x/10) = Rs 11x / 10
    Sum of the Selling prices of the 2 toys = Rs (21x / 20 + 11x / 10) = Rs 43x / 20
    As per the question : 43x / 20 = 1032
    => x = 1032 * 20 / 43 = 480
    Hence the cost price of each toy = Rs 480
    Alternatively,
    (105% + 110 %) of the Cost price of the toy = Rs1032
    => 215% of the Cost price of the toy = Rs1032
    => Cost price of the toy = Rs 1032 * 100 / 215 = Rs 480
    2) (25% – 20%) of the Cost price of the bicycle = Rs 89
    => 5% of the Cost price of the bicycle = Rs 89
    => Cost price of the bicycle = Rs 89 * 100 / 5 = Rs 89 * 20 = Rs 1780
    TRY THE REST OR ASK ONE AT A TIME

  4. ajedrez says:

    1) 1.05x + 1.10x = 1,032
    2.15x = 1,032
    x = 480
    2) 1.2x + 89 = 1.25x
    89 = 0.05x
    x = 1,780
    3) Not sure what you mean.
    4) 1.2(0.85x – 0.085x) = 91.8%
    5) 1.2x – 0.12x = 1.08x
    0.08x = 544
    x = 6,800
