Find The Amount Of The Sales Tax Or The Tax Rate & The Total Cost. Round Answer To Nearest Cent?

These ones are confusing me the others were easy maybe it’ll seem easy to you people?
4) Cost of item=$185 the tax rate= Amount of tax=$9.25 total cost=
10) cost of item=$21,800 the tax rate= amount of tax=$1417 total cost=
then the last one is, find the amount or rate of discount and the sale price. Round money answers to the nearest cent when necessary?
18) original price= $200 rate of discount= 20% amount of discount= sale price=
Please and thanks.

  1. Carl N says:

    4. It’s only math. What’s 9.25/185? 5 percent Adding the two amounts together give you total cost.
    10. Solved the same as above only the numbers and the rate is bigger
18 Fastest way to find a 20% discount is take 80% of the list price. Remember the stores you shop in where there’s 30% off? Multiply the list price by 70% to get the sale price. Or alternatively you could multiply $200 by 20% to get $40 and subtract it from $200. A little slow if you ask me.
