Frustrated Contract Question?

Hey guys. I have been given a scenario in my legal studies class to evaluate. Put simply the case is about a man who buys a coupon from an authorised website, store X. This coupon is for a restaurant called Y. Coupon expires in 2 weeks, in that time restaurant is flooded and the man has still not redeemed his voucher. Restaurant Y is rebuilt 3 months later.
Could any of you give me some advice on how this man might get his money back or if the restaurant is required to honour the voucher after 3 months.
Thanks in advance!

wait for 3 month. Its of no use this time, if u got it back.

I believe store X would claim “impossibility” as the store was flooded when the coupon was to be redeemed (i;e when the contract was to be fulfilled), in which case the man can sue for unjust enrichment, meaning he would get his money back, or specific performance, meaning the court would order the store to uphold their end of the contract.

On sites like Groupon.com and others like it, the business must be functioning during the time frame or they refund your money but he needed to notify store x when it closed.
On the other hand, the restaurant knows it was closed at that time and should honor it instead of getting a bad review outlining his dilemma. That always works.
