How do I 'fix' a dress that is too short?

I ordered a fancy dress costume online, there was a longer length dress that went down to the model’s knees and a shorter length dress that was mid-thigh on the model. I ordered the shorter length dress because I thought that since I am 5′ 0" the dress would be longer than what it was on the model… My dress came yesterday. It just barely covers my bum…

Is there any way I could in a way ‘fix’ this problem? I am wearing tights with the costume (obviously) but anything else I could do to help would be massively appreciated.

Thanks! <– this is the costume that I bought but the shorter one if that helps :-/

I would grab a pair of these, and that solves that!:
..assuming you’re old enough of course! if not, take it to a tailor and ask them to fix it! Good luck, hope I helped, have fun! cheers! 😉

Perhaps you could add a fairly wide black band of fabric at the hem. Another thought would be to lengthen the underskirt with some red tulle. Good luck to you!

What you have to remember about those costumes is that they aren’t really made for parties, they’re more for the bedroom haha. Anyways, you can take the petticoat out and that will make it longer. You can also wear black tights. You could also buy a slightly longer petticoat that DOES cover your bum. Even with all this it’s still going to be short though. Good luck!

Try to attach same colour netted cloth with your dress.
