How Does Wic Work With Being Pregnant?

I have an appointment tomorrow morning for Wic. I know they give Wic vouchers for things but how do they determine what they give you and how often do they give the vouchers? I am 28 weeks pregnant , what would the vouchers be for now? And when my baby is born how do they determine what kind of formula they pay for?

Why would you use government funding for your baby’s food, when you have free (and healthier) food right at your disposal?
(and for the record, WIC will probably ask you the same thing).

    Wic is real easy.
You go in and fill out paper work then they call you to the desk and ask you acouple questions then they have you sit back down and wait till a nurse calls you to check your weight how tall you are and iron after that she has you watch a video about how wic works after that your done and you get your wic card they will explain everything at the appointment.
When the baby is born you fill out wic application again but with baby’s info so you can be covered for both you and your baby!

For now you’d recieve free milk, bread, cheese, eggs, and maybe something else if its included. Then, after the baby is born, he/she has to be added and you’ll recieve vouchers for whatever kind of formula they select due to the information you give them.

They normally give you checks depending on your state.every check is different. Usually its 6 gallons of milk, dozen eggs, peanut butter, loaf of bread or wrap, cereal and juice. All of store brand or cheapest kind. Same checks monthly until you give birth. Then they help with formula their are a few kinds to select from. and if you plan to breastfeed they help with that also.

the vouchers they will give will contain milk penut butter bread, beans and for juice and they’ll give you two vouchers for fruit thats pretty much it. and for when your baby is born they will most likely give you similac thats what they give most mothers!!
