How Many Brits Would Give An Arm And Leg For A Chance To Emigrate To America?

Given the depressing, stagnant environment in your country, my guess would be at least 50%. The socialized NHS is making Brits sicker than ever. Whenever I talk to one, the only topic of conversation is the sinusitis they received from exposure to pollen grans or the stomach ache and frequent visits to GP. Clearly, you lot remain sick almost all the time. It’s like since the government is paying my bill right so it’s my right to remain sick and remain pessimistic and beaten.
In France, potential emigres to America should be a lot higher at 80-90% given their top celebrities like Gerard Depardieu don’t mind emigrating to Russia of all places.
In Greece, Italy and Spain, it should be close to 100%. Maybe 95% if you discount all the hotel-owners and theme park tourist workers. After all somebody’s gotta sell souvenirs near the Acropolis.
The only place I can think of where people wouldn’t want to be American is Australia. It’s a land full of sunshine, beaches, beers and beautiful women. Now there would be at least 30% Americans today who wouldn’t mind emigrating to Australia especially those living in crappy Mid-western states.

It depends on how their lives are.

  2. Jake says:

I’m not a fan of America so I personally wouldn’t go. Its not the most socially developed country in the world now is it.
I’d go to Australia or New Zealand though. Maybe Sweden. But I’d prefer to stay in the UK 🙂

  3. Zak says:

I wouldn’t, America isn’t so culturally accepting, with the race wars and such. Britain is very culturally accepting in my opinion,
And The Britain has great historical heritage, unlike America.

Given the violence, crime, cost of living, xenophobia, homicide rate not me or the majority of UK citizens.
This blatant troll question is laughable, as is the ” 50% guess and the ignorance of the ” The socialized NHS is making Brits sicker than ever”, pure stupid, ignorant Amercan bull manure.
The US is in 5th place for places to emigrate from the UK, so your guess is rubbish and without thought or foundation.

True in Britain, taxes are higher, people are ill and there are certain benefits to living in America. But you’re forgetting the amazing things about Britain. We have an amazing schooling system, which is a lot more personal, and takes care of individual pupils a lot more than the American one. We’re encouraged to do a lot more work ourselves, and be a lot more individual.

Personally, I wouldn’t even visit the place if somebody else was paying.

  7. Foofa says:

I suspect any Brit who follows international news would realize that conditions in the US aren’t any better than they are in the UK right now.
