    There is no difference that I know of between the quoted online price and the in-station price, with the only exception being hot deals fares which are web only, and only pertain to a rare certain few specific train numbers.
    In fact, even if you have a discount code or promo code, if you give it to the agent, they will apply the applicable discounts for you as well.
    If you are traveling Amtrak with any regularity it makes sense to sign up for their free guest rewards points. A one way trip could be free every once in awhile after you accrue enough round trips. I have saved a lot of money with that.
