How Old Do You Have To Be To Sign In And Out Of A Hotel Room?

I’m 17 and I got a hotel voucher for a 2 night stay at a hotel in California/Nevada, and I’m going to take a trip with some frends (under 18)
Do I have to have an adult (over 18) with me in order to sign into my hotel?
and can my mom sign me in, then leave to go home?
And when I have to sign out of our room, do I need an ID? Or just a signature? Does the same person who signed in, have to be the same person who signed out? Whats the rules for hotels?

Pretty sure you have to be like 21 or something but I might be wrong.
