How To Match Up A Power Adapter To A Device.?

I have a fluorescent strip light that has no details on it anywhere and it is missing it’s Power adapter. It takes 8xAA batteries but i need to have it connected to a constant power source. Does anyone know how i find out what adapter to buy? I was considering this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/600MA-REGULATED-POWER-ADAPTOR-CONNECTORS/dp/B003U02QPO
So i need to know:
1. Is this the right adapter
2. What Voltage setting
3. What polarity setting
Thanks

  1. Daniel K says:

It should work. Set it to 12 vdc. Change the polarity if it does not work – your LEDs should be able to withstand the wrong polarity for a second or two if it is wrong.
