Depending where you settle the weather is not that bad. Where I live in the South it is very mild and we never have any snow. There is quite a large Portuguese community in my town on the South coast. We have mild, wet winters and, if we’re lucky, hot summers. Of course it’s not as warm as Portugal but it is rarely that cold.We have the benefit of the Gulf Stream which keeps the winters mild.I swim in the sea here every summer.

In England we have a saying: "there’s no such thing as bad weather – only bad clothes!"

Orange fake tanned girls still travel out in barely there clothing, they simply wear coats. Most, if not all establishments and homes have internal heating systems and are kept, sometimes i find, quite unreasonably warm.
Everyone goes about their day despite the weather, and most will only stay home if they get snowed in. British weather is just something you learn to live with, same as any other country.
I came from New Zealand where it was the middle of summer, and arrived in England to cold and snow. I adjusted quite quickly, just bring loads of jackets and scarves!

Please don’t come – we are overcrowded as it is with immigrants…
