I Do Not Think I Am Being Unreasonable – Do You?

I went into BurgerKing last week, whos motto is “Your Burger, your way”
When I ordered my Whopper, I specifically asked the woman on the counter for no onions.
Low and behold, when it arrives there is onion on it. I took it back to the counter and asked her to explain herself. She was full of apologies and offered to trade it for a fresh one without onion.
This was not good enough. I decided then that this matter needed to be escalated up to the manager. When eventually he decided to turn up after a five minutes, he also gave me the same bunkum story about being happy to exchange the burger for a fresh one without onion. I explained that I could have gone into anaphylactic shock if I’d had onion and been allergic to it, which with Gods good grace I’m not, but this is besides the point. I explained to the manager this problem, After 10 minutes of me explaining all the symptoms and demonstrating how I would react to each, itchy rash, throat swelling, and low blood pressure, he had the audacity to try and bribe me with a book of free vouchers.
This was the final straw! I explained that I wanted the personal mobile number of the branch manager and of the CEO of Burger King, which he conveniently claimed he didnt have. Ha!
Then I was vexed beyond approach and started to shout about what else is being pushed onto my burger that I didnt want! At which point the police had been called and I was escorted from the premises, without my burger WITH ONION, without my fries and without the book of free vouchers.
I have since written a letter to the manager of the Burger King in question claiming that I will go to the press unless I receive £15,000 for undisclosed mental anguish. So far he has not replied.
I am thinking of having a thousand man protest march outside the store this weekend, protesting at the overuse of onion on my burger.
My friend on the other hand, says I’m being unreasonable

Woah……. I think you friend is a wise person indeed. You want money for a simple mistake? Even though they tried to please you after the fact? You caused a scene and had the law called on you and you are asking for money for YOUR mental anguish? I think you should count yourself lucky that didn’t press charges on you. I have three words for you to simply answer your question. GET A GRIP!!!!

it’s a shame you weren’t allergic to onions and didn’t eat the burger.

YES, YOU ARE UN REASONABLE, AND VERY UN REALISTIC…..15,000…………
SOME ONE WORKING FOR NEXT – TO – NOTHING IN PAY SCREWED UP.

If this story is serious then yes, I believe that you are overreacting. I also understand your view point, though. I’m not too happy when my order is wrong either. I don’t believe that you will be getting any money though, unless, of course, you file a lawsuit. If they don’t respond in a certain amount of time then you can ask for default judgment and potentially receive the compensation that you want.
I think that the best thing for you to do, though, is just to let this go. Because you may never feel retribution with your plan of action and you won’t be satisfied until you can move on.

You’re being a money grubbing, insufferable douchebag. You were not harmed in any way, yet you want to extort money. What a ****! You might as well start suing every car on the road that could ‘possibly’ have run your stupid *ss over.

If you want high end service go to a high end establishment, not a minimum wage paying, fast food restaurant. If onions make anyone go into anaphylactic shock then I hope they are smart enough to lift the bun to double check EVERY time they eat a burger!

Sorry, but you are being unreasonable. You were offered a new burger and a coupon book as compensation. You ordered a burger at a fast food place, not a Michelin starred restaurant. Even at a nice steakhouse they have you cut into the steak while the waiter is present to make sure it is to your liking, usually it is but sometimes it isn’t. Maybe the sear wasn’t right or something else with the plate. You don’t make a big fuss and get the law called on you. You send it back and get a new plate. You don’t sue anyone over a mistake on an order, especially since people will offer to provide you a new -corrected- meal. And they offered you additional compensation. Get over it, move on, take some anger management counseling. Smiles…
