I Need Help With These 4 Math Problems??!?

I JUST NEED SOME HELP ON THE SETUP OF THEM.
1. the sum of 3 consectutive integers is 111. identify the unkowns with variables, translate into an equation and solve the equation to find the 3 numbers.
2. In 2007 Carl won the 400 mils race. At one point during the race Patrick was 20 miles closer to the start than the finish. How far had Patrick traveled at that point?
3. julie goes shopping and pirchases a pair of sandals and a dress. the sandals are on sale for 20% off and the dres is 40% off. Original price of sandals was $32 and original price of dress was $58. Find the total she will pay after the discount? Exclude taxes.

  1. Raymond says:

    I’m too lazy to do the rest, but 4. is 6(n-4)

  2. Wile E. says:

    1.) First Integer = x
    Second Integer = x + 1
    Third Integer = x + 2
    x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 111
    x + x + 1 + x + 2 + 111
    3x + 3 = 111
    3x = 111 – 3
    3x = 108
    x = 108 / 3
    x = 36
    The integers are 36, 37 & 38

    2.) Carl’s Point on the Race Course = x
    Difference, d = 20 mi.
    Total Distance, t = 400 mi.
    x + (x + d) = t
    2x + d = t
    2x + 20 = 400
    2x = 400 – 20
    2x = 380
    x = 380 / 2
    x = 190
    Carl traveled 190 miles.

    3.) Original Price of Sandals, s = $32
    Sandals Discount = 20%
    Original Price of Dress, d = $58
    Dress Discount = 40%
    Total Paid = T
    T = (s – 0.2s) + (d – 0.4d)
    T = 32(1 – 0.2) + 58(1 – 0.4)
    T = 32(0.8) + 58(0.6)
    T = 25.6 + 24.8
    T = 60.4
    Julie paid a total of $60.40

    4.) 6(x – 4)
