Is A Five Cartridge Printer More Expensive Than A Two Cartridge Printer? (canon Pixma)?

I’ve never brought a five cartridge printer–is it worth it? My father would like to buy us a new printer since our old one got screwed up, and we saw a CANON PIXMA MG5250 for sale on the flyer. Only thing is, it’s a five cartridge, so I don’t really know how that works.
So my questions are:
1) How much would it cost (approx) to fill one cartridge out of the five?
2) There’s 4 color cartridges (the primary colours) and one black cartridge. If one colour runs out, does this mean my picture/document wont print out properly?
3) In the end, is it worth the money or should I just stick to a two cartridge printer?
