My bicycle handlebars are ridiculously wide, does anyone know where I can get old style curved ones?

I don’t want drop handle bars as I need a shopping basket on the front, but my straight handlebars take up a massive amount of space in the hallway and annoy everybody. My old bike (stolen) had really neat curved bars that seem to be out of fashion. Does anyone know of a 2nd hand parts place in London? Have just got back from France and nearly all the bikes there, apart from racers and mountain bikes, have these old style curved bars, I surely can’t be the only city dweller that hates these ridiculously wide bars.

Try a second hand shop like Steptoes, get the yellow pages out and write down where they are and phone them up and ask, worth a try.

the type of bars you are looking for are moustache or albatross bars, ebay is helpful or call around to local shops.

I’ve just fitted a pair of those bars to one of the family bikes. £15 from our local bike shop, replacing a flat bar. It’s far more comfortable and the brake and gear cables didn’t need changing. A North Road bar is probably what you’re after.
