2. Mrs. Johnston bought a carpet for her son; the carpet costs $297.35. If Mrs. Johnston also paid an 8% sales tax on the carpet, what is a reasonable estimate for the amount of sales tax that she paid?
3. On the “tax-free” weekend in August. Trenton found a shirt that he liked on sale at American Eagle. The regular price of the shirt was $24, but it was marked with a sales tag that said “25% off”. What was the sale price of the shirt with the discount? ( There is no tax).
4. The Felders ate at Joe Cotton’s BBQ last night; the total bill was $42.37. The service was excellent, so the Felders decide to leave approximately a 20% tip. Which amount is the best estimate for this tip amount?

6. Jana, Cody, and Jordanate at Chili’s last night; the cost of their dinner was $49.73. Jana had a coupon for a 20% discount at Chili’s. What is the amount of the discount they recieved?

    297.35*1.08=321.13800=321.14
