NHS entitlement voucher for glasses?

I was wondering how much the NHS entitlement voucher is for buying glasses?
I am on Jobseeker’s allowance and have booked a free sight test. I then want to buy designer glasses. I live in Scotland if that helps. Any help would be great, thanks.

It all depends on what your prescription is. The higher your prescription is, the more your NHS voucher will be worth. Different opticians will use the NHS voucher in different ways. Some multiple or larger opticians will give you more discount than the actual NHS voucher value. Some opticians will give you free standard lenses and you will have a selection of free frames. In most places if you want a better frame then you just pay the difference for the better frames.
