Overseas shipping charges when buying from Amazon.co.uk?

I’m looking to buy a record (vinyl) from a US seller on Amazon.co.uk. (see: i.imgur.com/32pIP.png) I thought it funny that the postage was only slightly over £1 to ship all the way across the north atlantic then had a read of this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=olp_intl_help?ie=UTF8&nodeId=502492 and read "Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be."

Now, obviously if I’m going to be charged for anything like this, I’m better off buying from a UK seller, even if it is initially slightly more expensive.

Basically what I’m asking is what’s the likelihood that there’ll be additional customs charges?

  1. Harley Drive says:

anything under £28 =no customs charges so a record is unlikely to incur any but the customs tariff manual is 30000 pages so you always run the risk of a charge
