Ps3 Super Slim Hard Drive Upgrade?

I recently bought a 12GB PS3 Super Slim console and completely forgot about the hard drive capacity. I did some research online and found out that I could upgrade it. I don’t want to go over the top on hard drive size so I thought 80GB would be sufficient. I would like to know does this hard drive work with PS3:

I plan to get it and the Sony caddy and I just wanted to make sure everything would work fine. Thanks.

That HDD will work, but you should really get one with a larger storage capacity. 80GBs goes pretty quickly. I suggest you look for one with at least 320GBs. And I would also suggest choosing one with a well known brand name like Western Digital or Seagate.

basically if it’s a 2.5 inch sata 5400 rpm hard drive it works , make sure it has those specs and get a 500 gig one so you have enough space for a long time
remember , you need twice as must hdd space as the game requires to download a digital game so if you have a small hdd you will be limited in what games you can buy on psn let alone how many games before you have to delete content when you get another game
an 80 gig hard drive when formatted gives only 74 gigs , if you tried to download the game uncharted 3 which is 40 gigs you would not be able to since once you downloaded the game you’d have only 34 gigs free not the 40 it requires to install the download ( once installed the 40 gigs opens up again but even if you only downloaded a couple of larger games that were in the 18 gig range you’d be almost full with two games , so that is why a 500 gig hdd makes more sense ( plus it can hold 200-300 games from psn easily )
