Shall I Contact My Previous Employer If They Have Any Vacancies?

I recently worked at Waitrose as a customer service assistant part time as I’m a full time student. It was a temporary contract so they did not take me in afterwards as they took 7 out of 50 temps. I feel that this is because of my attendance. I was late most of the time which is a big mistake, I took the opportunity of working for a good company for granted. I was awarded luncheon vouchers for being ‘very helpful and very friendly’ before I left as a customer gave a review. i asked if they would call us back and they said they might if theres vacancy but i doubt it as my attendance was poor. however my performance was great. And now that summer is coming, I’m wondering if I should be persistent and show them that I want to work there again and not be late… How do i do this? Please help! Any advice would be great.. Thanks in advance 🙂

    It won’t hurt to try.
They won’t expect you to suddenly become punctual.
That’s why it’s so important to be punctual, be honest, do your best no matter what. These things have a way of coming back to either help you or hurt you later on in life.
