Short Sale Home Bought Going Into Auction ( Need Immediate Help)?

My father recently bought a short sale home that went through a closure and all the paperwork was filed and the deal was closed by the title company, we got the key and terms and conditions, even buying the required stove and dishwasher for the property. After 3 weeks of renovations and transitioning into the home, we got a letter from a law office stating that the lender has put the house under an auction. Me and my father are dumbfounded and have no idea what to do.
Please help.

Too bad so sad for the law office. The home is yours if the title company did it’s job.
Sounds like a legal secretary fouled up.
    Contact that law office.

Check with your title company to make sure they filed the proper paperwork transferring the deed to you. Meanwhile, contact the lender immediately and tell them the house is yours, not the original seller’s (though on a short sale, the lender has to release the original lien) and then get your own lawyer.

This sounds like the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing. If the property was in foreclosure and you had a signed sales agreement (bank signed) then the court house auction should have been postponed as required by law. You need to notify the title company immedately!

Contact your title company. Is this your lender or the old lender?
