It’s great that you are considering looking into other fields. Technology is always progressing and there is a lot of work to be done in the future.
Education is there to prove yourself. To have a BSc degree is the proof of this.
A direction in education is just to give you a road you feel most comfortable with, with a good chance to find a job in the same direction.
However, it’s not mandatory you continue in the same direction. If you have the motivation and the willingness, you can always go anywhere.
During your unemployment it might be financially uninteresting to follow a private school or college. For CCNA you can do self study, followed by the test. If you pass, you will be of great value to other companies.
I heard stories of a pet doctor who became a programmer. Just go to the company you want to work for and show them your motivation. Note that they will not only look at your skills. Skills can be improved. You can also learn on the job or follow a course which is specifically for within the company.
If a company would need to pay to give you a course, it would be a small investment in you. But they will get it back once you get your work done properly. It’s a matter of trust and motivation, give and take.
