What can I buy to let me plug in an audio/video cable from an analogue camcorder and get it onto a vista pc?

Some examples of what I’m looking for are:

smartdisk videosafe – http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300086947498&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=020

adaptec videoh! – http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170087790177&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=007

but they don’t appear to work on vista and I don’t want to buy one only 2 get this confirmed! There is no s-video port on the camcorder although I do have one on the PC.

Thanks!

Dazzle make USB video capture cards with editing software included. I have version 9 and it has work very well transfering old 8mm video to DVD.

Here is a link to a similar product that can be bought from ebuyer:

You need to have video capture hardware on your computer.
Your S-video may be video out.
Both your links are for video capture packages.
Microsoft has been pretty good for providing backward compatability at least up until windows XP.
