What Do You Think Of My Political Views -agree Or Disagree?

Here they are:
Taxes: They should be lowered on everyone (by a lot). The tax code should be simplified
Budget Deficit: I think that I balanced budget is important, and as I support lowering taxes drastically, I support deep spending cuts to avoid going deeper into dept
Government intervention: Government regulation on businesses is bad in 90% of cases. A free market Is always the best for a country and it’s people
Military: A strong military is important to ensure domestic tranquility. I oppose deep spending cuts to the military although I think that our country should only use its military force for self defense or for foreign interventions that benefit us in a direct way
Gay marriage: I am personally opposed to gay marriage but I believe that every state should be able to decide on this issue. I therefore support overturning DOMA
Marijuana should be made legal for consumption as it is a personal decision
Gun Regulation: I strongly support the 2nd amendment but I think that universal background checks should be implemented so that the mentally ill can’t have access to guns. I also support arming school personnel in order to protect our children
Immigration: We should reform our immigration laws to allow more highly skilled workers to live in our country. They would benefit the economy
Social Security is a dysfunctional system and should be privatized
Abortion should be illegal
Government should be way smaller than it is right now
I strongly oppose labor unions, taxes on corporations
More power should go to the states
People who get the opportunity to work and refuse it should not expect help from the government
Racial equality has been achieved in this country and new measures are not needed
Medicare should be turned into a “voucher” system, such as proposed by representative Paul Ryan (R-WIS).
And that’s about it… Please be honest!

  1. Michael B - Repeal Prop. 8! says:

Mostly disagree. Basically it’s rehashed, trickle-down, neo-con nonsense which has already brought our nation to the low point where it is. Although I do appreciate your support for my right to marry the person I love.

  2. Gary C says:

You are on the right track but still too convoluted. The simple solution is to abolish government. It is a corporation whose core business is violence.

  3. Bad Girl Conservative says:

Can’t say I agree with all of them, but is there a particular reason you want my opinion on it all? If you’d just like to shape your opinions based on mine, I’ll happily give you a copy of my manifesto…

  4. gomanyes says:

You seem to be rather naive in a lot of your views. For example, just about every economist agrees that a lack of proper regulation of banks caused the crash in 2008, sending our nation into recession. That is what happens when you let the “free market” take over, and it certainly isn’t the best result for our nation.
What exactly is wrong with social security? It is currently better capitalized than most private retirement schemes.
Why do you oppose labor unions? Do you realize that without labor unions, people might still be working 12 hour days for $4 an hour?
Oh, and why do you want to turn Medicare into a “voucher” system? So that insurance companies can make more money?
To summarize, I think you have very conservative views that are based on philosophical arguments but simply are not realistic in the real world. If your positions were to be implemented, it would greatly enrich the wealthiest people at the expense of a majority of the population.

  5. FatAsss says:

Immigration reform to allow “more highly skilled workers…would benefit the economy”…no it wouldn’t. They’re taking away jobs from Americans. How is that a benefit?

  6. The Wiz says:

In other words, you’re a libertarian. You could have just said that.
