What margin should an agent take on sales?

Typically what margin should an agent make on sales of food and drink. I work with producers of food and drink in South East Asia and it’s a question that I get asked by companies who are introducing new products to Europe. I’m guessing it is about 5% plus agreed expenses.

    depends on quantity and how much you need to make.

    1 expensive product sold once a month, big mark up.
    1000’s sold weekly, small mark up.
