If the customer doesn’t have the cash they could always give you sexual favours!

I knew someone that put a “Everything’s 50% off” sign in her yard. It made a lot of people stop buy even though she didn’t even put anything on sale. People love getting a bargain.

If selling anything that plugs in, have an extension cord there to test it with.
    Bags.
    Water, Ice, cookies for sale.
A tape measure. If selling clothes, jury rig some mirrors and a changing area.
Sells books, videos, dvds as x for $1.

Have everything clearly marked, have a sign up saying “make me an offer”, then you can decide if you want to accept a lower price. Be firmer on your prices early on but as the day progresses, be more prepared to drop your prices to get a sale. Make sure any clothing is cleaned and pressed. Have a power cord available to show that your electric items still work. Wear a bum bag (or I think Americans call them fanny bags) to keep your cash close and safe. Make sure you have plenty of small change, small notes to give change. Try and stick to round prices ie $1 or $5 or $10 . Have plenty of bags (old grocery bags) for purchases and if you are selling anything fragile, have newspaper handy to wrap up those purchases. Be ready for the early callers! You might say 8am but I’ve had people on my doorstep at 6am! And if you got some stuff that’s not really worth much, have a “free” box, especially for things that are a bit broken or incomplete like toys. Have fun.
