Here is one but what is the name for them please??
Same kinda thing they use to hold xray results upto to look at them clear.

I want to use it for tracing tattoos.

    Ummmm, I honestly think the thing you are asking about is called a light box. Photographers use them to look at negatives.

    i think most people know it as a light box but unfortunately if there is a professional name for it i am not sure what it is

    Yes they’re called lightboxes as a general term, but there are different types so there are light panels and light tables as well.

    We were also told at college that when we were tracing at home to tape the paper onto a window in the absence of a lightbox.

    Yes lightbox, you should look up tattoo supply webstores, you want a smallish box with a slant,dont cheap out or you may get a really dim light, its not really the same kind of thing as what they use for xrays but same kind of technology
