Will This Make A Good Gaming Pc?

After looking around for a while, I’ve decided on these components for my first PC build. I’d like to be able to run modern/near future games at medium settings with a playable frame rate. Will this do? I haven’t got much room to expand on my budget, however any replacement suggestions would be greatly appreciated, along with your idea of how it would perform.

    Dude…this is perfect.

Damn! You really did your research on the prices! That’s like what? $450-500?
The build itself isn’t a bad one. But I’d get a better graphics card. Preferably a GTX 580.
One last thing.. What OS will you use? Windows 7?

Your processor is fine, and so are pretty much all the components. However, you may want to get a more powerful GPU if this is going to be a gaming machine. nVidia’s GT series of graphics cards aren’t particularly renowned for their gaming performance, at least spring for a 650 GTX or a 560 ti from the previous generation. You could also grab an AMD card instead, which should cut down on costs a bit. A 7770 is ideal for a budget gaming desktop.
