Would This Computer Be Able To Run The Sims 3?

I know this question has been asked a million times already, so I’m really really really sorry prior to asking!
I just want a computer solely for the purpose of playing the Sims 3. I have a laptop for everything else, but it can’t run the Sims 3.
However, I’m a poor student so have found this extremely cheap computer on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-Optiplex-GX280-Desktop-Computer/dp/B0064MNI52/ref=sr_1_60?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1365843333&sr=1-60&keywords=desktop+pc.
I checked the game requirements on the Sims 3 website for Windows XP and tried to match them the best I could, but I am the least tech savvy person ever. Also, I know the computer is really cheap so just wondering if there’s anything I’ve missed? Hoping somebody might tell me if the computer can’t run the game before I make a purchase, thanks.

From a source (Game Debate) your computer should be able to run it fully on low settings.

i’ve also faced an similar situation,
i say you could buy an assembled cpu and keyboard etc.
but buy an small size cheaper monitor which would be better

No, not at all. 1 fb ram is TERRIBLE. You need at least 2 to run just the base game if you want any EPs you need 4 or 6. 40gb hard drive is terrible as well the game will fill that up in no time if you have a lot of saves and Eps..it doesn’t mention what the graphics card is which is probably one of the most important components for The Sims game to run well butim betting its not good at all. Based on the 1gb ram issue I’m going to say it won’t run the game and if it does it’ll be so laggy and the graphics so terrible you won’t want to play, sorry.
